I'm eager to read the history of my Family Name. So, if I was interested on it perhaps you also consider to be useful.
Resolve one of the mystery of your existence. Enjoy telling to your grandsons the best tale they has never listen to before.

Hope it helps!

...and no, this wasn't THE first filmed situation comedy on network TV {"THE LIFE OF RILEY", starring Jackie Gleason in 1949-'50, was}. This was the first successful filmed comedy to stay on the air for more than one season (it lasted until 1955), from the same people who later produced "MY LITTLE MARGIE", and filmed at the same studio ["THE AMOS 'N' ANDY SHOW" also used Hal Roach Studios as production facilities from 1951 through '53].
Wonderful! Thank you You Tube! One of the favorite shows of my youth. Great memories.

TRIVIA: WILLIE BEST, who plays the Black handyman, played a lot of stereotyped roles in his career. He later sued because he felt he was forced into these stereotyped parts, but lost. STEWART IRWIN was an actor & bandleader in older films. SHIEILA JAMES, who plays the younger daughter, grew up to play in "Dobie Gillis" & become a leader in the fight for Lesbian rights!
