Songs and Soundtrack:
The songs for The Muppet Movie were written by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher. The most famous song is "The Rainbow Connection," sung by Kermit in the beginning of the film and then reprised at the end. This song has become a fanfare for the Muppets and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost to "It Goes Like It Goes," from the film Norma Rae. Other notable songs include "Movin' Right Along," "Can You Picture That," "Never Before, Never Again," "I Hope That Something Better Comes Along (Part of this song was actually cut out of the movie!)" and "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday." The soundtrack for the movie was released on CD in 1993.
