The velvetones are much smoother, little warmer, not as punchy. Great kit for sitting in the groove. The Blaster however is big and has almost a night club sounding bass to it. It's like a dance record in a drum set, would be a great kit for anyone playing funk or indie rock n roll.

Loved the kit, definitely,
but did you maybe tune the toms a bit high?
I mostly ask because that high tom just sounds really high and has a dry tone.

@slipknotmeep These definitely came out of the box tuned high. I only had time to even them out a little. I would have preferred to go significantly lower. Unfortunately we only have a sound guy for a few hours one day a week right now.
