For under $30, by using a Sharp IR Rangefinder and a servo, I added adaptive mapping and navigation to the iRobot Create.

  • how many cereal box do you have :)

  • @ibm322 I like cereal =)

  • Just curious, the drift, thinking aloud, would you be able to program it partialy out? That is, when the robot makes a 90degree turn, tell it that it is 1" shifted? just a thought

  • @portblock The shift is variable, so nope.

  • well how?

  • @DoNotuseEbid Use a sharp IR on two scanning servos. See my ERP 3D mapping video.

  • @DoNotuseEbid yes

  • do you know of a low cost way to 3d map the contour of a golf course putting green?

  • this is really interesting, if you have a second create it would be interesting to see two creates with two different destinations =)

    Great job

  • yeap, a really old version of it!
