The beginning of the "Dark Ages" which would include humiliating losses to VMI and Gardner-Webb. The Dark Ages ended when Billy Gillespie was fired, and John Calipari was hired. Welcome back Big Blue.
Also, if I recall, UAB nearly beat us the next year as well...or that may have been a couple of years later, don't really recall

i would say uab played a good game. but it was kentucky s lac of effort . gerald fitch has never showed up in the ncaas . uab were destroyed kansas the following week what an inbarrasssing loss to the uk program the start of smith s down fall at uk.
