i remeber before 10 years after whole day of skatebording we go to check our friend new stereo set and he hd this new cd by some guy called Jamalski.I can t never forget this song .tons of weed and hourse of jamalski so loud we did not speak even.Just crazy good stuff.
As to why this song in particular and Jamalski in general never got more popular is quite beyond me. This song is among the many during its era that not only combined the Dance Hall genre with Rap but also followed closely with Ice-T's very politically aware prose. A potent and influential combination indeed for teenaged minds like mine at that time. While never gaining the publicity it should have, African Border (this remixed version in particular) was iconic and a fixture of the early 1990s.
