The only way to control the inside temperature is to do the following:

1. Build an A-frame roof to reflect the sun.

2. Paint the container with a high R-Factor paint.

3. Installing high grade insulation.

4. Proper placement of the home in regards to the path of the sun.

5. Placement of shade trees,etc around the home.

@MtnMarks It is now one year past you have posted your comments, i hope you will read now, if i have this container, i will build a wooden sloping roof on the roof, which will cool the container and will give enough space for storage.

Overall I thought it was nicest i've seen.

Just wondering about storage. I think I would eliminate the 2nd bedroom and

add a closet to the other bedroom.

this is one of the more attractive container home's ive seen. This could deffinatly solve alot of problems such as housing the homeless, I am looking at doing some form of housing in this catagory for myself and my boyfriend. The container houses are also VERY strong and durable and can stand up to even hurricane force winds according to some makers of this type of housing. Cant wait to get my own!!!

I think it's high time there is a movement towards this type of housing. If the people force the issue with the local powers-that-be and bring attention to this great alternative it would solve A LOT of problems. You can make these units attractive (interior & exterior), self sustaining, green and portable. The configurations can be lent to any design/size of housing. THe possibilities are limitless. The only thing limited are the current LAWS.
