  • I agree with you 1yearvlog. The fact that it has no external rain-fly and little ventilation is another big problem. The lack of a rain-fly does certainly help to cut down on the tent's pack size and weight, however.

And you make a good point about the rain. If you were setting this tent up in the rain, the inside of the tent would probably get really, really wet while you were setting it up, since it requires that you fully open the front zipper of the tent and leave it open for quite some.

For some reason Mountain Hardwear doesn't make it no more.

  • Have you tried touring with a cyclocross bike. I've been comparing them to my Cannondale T2000 touring bike and really don't see any difference. I've toured with a mountain bike before and liked it until I wanted to keep up with other touring cyclists who were on faster rigs..

  • It's an idea but don't know why anyone would want to sleep with their bike. The only advantage to this would be less weight and the disadvantages would be many! I'll stick with a real tent.

  • I use a Mountain Hardwear Ghisallo for bike touring. It has a dedicated 'garage' built into the tent to store your bike. Does not affect your entrance/exit, excellent in typically bad UK weather. Highly recommended.

  • Yea but if your bike is all Muddy then your done for. But I think it would be great for hiking for the fact you can use your Trekking poles instead of a bike.

  • fantastic idea, poles (BTW I'm from Poland;) are one of the most problematic load on a bicycle, so far i used to put my tent just behind pipe which holds seat, but with yours tent whole pack with poles and stuff is pointless :D

  • Stealth Camping....Cool!

  • after all day riding my bike the last thing i want to do is sleep with it ;)

  • it's a nice idea and i guess you save a lot of weight but like you say a real novalty. if you're just on your own and your bicycle is the perfect size then yes it may be usable.

It's so impractical: what if it's been / (and still is) raining, you have to use your drenched bike to hold it up and put all your bags inside too where you sleep !? lol, so with the added condensation of the tent being single skin you'll be waking up in a lake!

Nice try Mehler, but this is pretty shocking.
