man i was new to diesels when i got my excursion 7.3, i couldnt figure out why it would sound like a compressor valve leak... lol but i learned it had to do with the the turbo and the intake temp. next winter is gonna be delightful!

wow i always wondered what that idle noise was because i would let it run for 5 - 10 min before i left for school in the freezing weather and it would always do that, i assumed it wasn't supposed to so i would always press the gas or the brake pedal for it to stop. is it supposed to idle like that?

I love the way it lopes in the beginning, a lot of older mechanical injection diesel will do that with pump tweaking such as a 5.9 cummins

Is it not a poor practice to use the throttle when starting a Direct injection engine.

Plugs seem fine as the exhaust is quite clear

A little cetane booster/lubricator and it'll fire on the first shot.
