Freddie Green is ALWAYS OK exactly where he wants to be!

That’s Jazz !!

From what I've read/heard, there's only about 3 solos from Freddie. Fortunately, that "Basie Sound" always lets
Freddie's work shine through even if he didn't solo very much.

Wonderful music. Taste, time, dynamics -- and how does Basie put so much "tension-needing-release" into it when it's so relaxed?
Interesting that this is in black and white, when it was done in 1968. I would have thought colour was the standard by then.

Great footage... Basie showing why Oscar Peterson (self-admittedly) was scared of him; Freddy Greene showing why the essence of the insurmountable swing of the Basie band was the way he played TIME.
