Pandaemonium - John Hannah

(2000) John Hannah stars as poet William Wordsworth, who collaborated with fellow poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge (Linus Roache) during a tumultuous period of political and romantic idealism.

At first this works to the advantage of Coleridge--who does some of his best writing while Wordsworth stagnates--until Coleridge becomes addicted to opium. Wordsworth, meanwhile, doesn't find his voice until he abandons his friend.

Funny, yeah. Right. There is, though, a lot of anachronistic detail in the film, including trails from jets; they reoccur throughout it. Perhaps, then, it's intentional? Maybe it's a visual metaphor for Coleridge's "velocity" as Hannah's Wordsworth phrases it. Good eye, though!
