On March 2nd, Hagerman was toned out for a motor vehicle accident with possible "Heavy Rescue" at one of its known intersections, Patchogue/Yaphank Road and Gazzola Drive. 2nd Assistant Chief Billy Ventura was the first to respond with Rescue 4 following right behind. Once on scene he confirmed that the driver's door would have to be removed since the victims car was rear ended with such force causing the rear door to impinge on the driver's door preventing it from opening. The crew of Rescue 4 went right to work stabilizing the vehicle and broke out its TNT Hydraulic Tools and worked to remove the driver's door, the center (B) post and fold back the rear door to allow for more room so the patient could be removed by EMS. Fire Police Squad 8 also responded and shut down the road to allow units to work safely while they worked on the vehicle. Once the doors were removed the patient was taken into the care of South Country Ambulance and transported to the local hospital. Once the road was cleared all units took up within 30 minutes, Great Job Done By All.
