GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Derrick Hollowell's home is a canvas of sorts, a collage of his loves and inspirations. Some of his pieces are on display at Hopcat, Mary Free Bed and Metro Hospital.
Soon, he'll have a piece in the ArtPrize contest.
"We've got some ideas," he told 24 Hour News 8, and said he'd soon "get on it."
When Hollowell learned the ArtPrize competition was open and the works could be anything, he really warmed to the idea.
As an artist in residence in the Avenue of the Arts, he lives above The 106 Gallery run by Joel Zwart, who said he was excited about what ArtPrize could bring to Grand Rapids.
