A "DIY" and "How To" video on making your own custom armor from every day materials. In this video, I show those new to the world of costuming, affectionately called "Shinies," how to make a custom piece of leg armor from a trash can. This is the second in what will be an ongoing series of "Instructional Videos for Shinies" from The Mandalorian Arsenal. For more information on the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club, visit www.mandalorianmercs.com.

  • WarlordsKeep, you're right. Plastic (styrene, Sintra) from a sign company would be just as good. But the reason I did this was because the nearest plastic supplier in my area is 50 miles away. Dollar for dollar, it was about the same, but I didn't feel like driving on a 2-hour round trip for the little amount I needed. Don't get me wrong, if you have access to it, I would recommend the styrene or Sintra, but this is an alternative for those like me who don't have ready access to it. Thanks!

  • The Garbage can idea is nice but, would'nt it be easier to buy sheet styrene from a sign making company?

  • I just linked this on TDH. That way some people will see that trash can armor IS a VIABLE alternative to Sintra, and glass over cardboard.
