  • I just looked around my house trying to find the smoke detector that was beeping until I read the post that said it was in the video!

  • Thanks for this. I've been wanting to seal my ductwork and can't really afford to pay someone else to do it. I can definately do this myself. Its just gonna be a bit of a pain crawling through the crawlspaces throughout underneath my house :)

  • Mastic is the best way to go for sealing duct leaks. This has been said over and over: duct tape is the worst thing to use on ducts. In my own early experience I have seen this crap fall right hot ducts. It is great for doing emergency repair around the farm but that's about it. Ul approved mastic is easy to work with, it died pretty fast, dried hard, and seals better than anything else. USE IT!

  • I like that little pump where can i buy it???

  • damn I read that comment and I almost got up and looked at mine too!

  • I could not help being a fire inspector that you should change the smoke detector battery first. What good is all that ductwork if the house burns down. Second, it was a very informative video. Thanks Chris

  • Thanks for this. I got a good laugh when I saw the comment about the smoke detector, because I had paused the video and was trying to find which of MINE was squawking!

  • you know you dont have to use mastic

if you use foil tape "properly...as in you dont just press it on and expect it to stay.. you need to use a squeegee and it will not come off and using mastic on some foil tape causes it to actually peel
