Bandit fell out of his nest that was broadcast over the internet at an age where he was supposed to be practicing his flying skills. But was not equipped for fledging, as his nest was very inadequate - his parents had never built it up enough and there was no room for him to spread his wings. He was rescued after he was not able to get back into his tree after falling, received excellent care at O.W.L. www.owlcanada.ca and is now an expert flyer. His release had to be delayed because there were not many eagles in the area that he, as a young inexperienced fledgling could learn from to forage. He would have probably ended up at the Vancouver Dump. He now will be released in the Fraser Valley at Chehalis, into the company of hundreds of other eagles, with 1000s of salmon to eat on Nov 21. This is him today, still in the care of O.W.L., but ready to go. This video was taken with permission from the director of O.W.L. Mrs. Bev Day.
