  • One of the best solos I've heard from contemporary EC. Thumbs up

  • Eric Clapton is sort of shy. I read his book, appropriatly entitled :Clpton." If you had his kind of family life, you would be as unsettled as he was. Now, he tours, but is at ease with himself. He does not need to do all the talking, he is all about expressing himself through his music. If I could still play the guitar when I get to his age, it would be fantastic. EC is the greatest, even though he will not agree.

  • This is not a racial comment but I prefer listening to White man blues, they seem to put that extra thing into it, but I don't know what that thing is ? I've listened to all the old greats and it is superb stuff but I feel it more when for example Eric covers an elmore James track then the original.

  • what garbage..killed the song..listen to West Bruce and Laing´s version.

  • Heeey, don't be such a drama-queen! What is so "freakishly" about praising a player you like? I did it out of poor joy, not to challenge anybody. It is my opinion, which I am entiteled to have in this free world. I didn't ask for yours in the first place, I'm just curious about who's behind the arrogance: who are you to tell me what to do? May be you are Junior Watson or one of the other players mentioned in person behind that nickname of yours, or someone very close, I don't care. Get a life

  • @plexiseagull OK> Done. You made a freakishly exagerated claim the clapton was 'the best', and I challaged it. if you don't want to be exposed to others opinions, I suggest you stay away from the internet. Try listening to some of the guys I forwarded to you. Let Junior Watson teahc you something about "phrasing".

  • @vibroluxor So why wasting time listening on this "pale" music? Most people commenting on this video are obviously in love with the sound of Eric Clapton: you may hurt somebodys feelings. Are you on some kind of crusade or something?

  • @plexiseagull Nothing against EC, I was motivated to pick up guitar after listening to 461 Ocean Blvd. great musican with a lifetime of achievement. having said that, when I want to listen to the Blues, I don't pick up a clapton album. I would think anybody who's broken down where it all comes from recognizes Eric's interpretations pale in comparison.

  • @vibroluxor Well, so you believe that you can, then? First of all you have to recognize that Clapton plays like Clapton, not as TBone, Collins, King, etc.. He has his own recogniseable style. You state that Clapton doesn't feel the blues, well, what can we say about that? The only conclusion must be that You can't feel Eric Clapton.

  • @plexiseagull you can either rocognize it or you can'tt. I am sure that eric would be the first to tell you he can't play a whole solo in the style of TBone walker, or Albert Collins, or Albert King, etc. He can hear it, but he can't feel it. There are literally hundreds of guitarists who are 'better' or more studied and capable guitar players. listen to Junior Watson for instance; Eric couldn't come close to that level of virtuosity. Listen to Robert Cray, he plays circles around EC.

  • @vibroluxor Then you have to explain, as you put it, what a "true blues craftsman" is. Even B.B. King praise Clapton as one of the all time greats.
