How to Hoist an MWD Device on an Oil Rig. The device in this video is aprox 11 meters long. Most of the length is made of a Lithium based batteries. This device is used to measure: Earths magnetic field, Earths gravitational field, temperature, vibrations, gamma ray emissions, etc. All sensor readings are then transmitted back to computers on the surface for analysis.
