Onto Mombasa Road, whose safety is coming to question following the Sunday night horrifying killing of a woman and two children. As if to prove the highways growing reputation as one of the most dangerous in Kenya, a pedestrian crossing the road was hit by a vehicle in the presence of our crew. The traffic police are now terming the new highway pedestrian unfriendly. Ray Polo has the story.

Thanks for the correction brother - I accept it with due humility. It certainly should be neither nor - I have no excuse for making that silly mistake.
On the other hand, you must agree with me that there are typos and there are glaring grammatical errors that make reading unpleasant. Moreso, if we insist on being part of any discussion forum, we have to make ourselves understandable.

It is neither...nor not neither... or
Nyani haoni kundule like we say hapa pwani. You admitted yourself that his suggestions were good and you understood them. Why give unwarranted grammar lessons?
Back to the issue at hand. A tunnel will probably be cheaper, more adequate for the old and handicapped and more esthetic than a flyover. Kenyans need also to learn some manners and courtesy.

Since you decided to turn the discussion about this sad issue into a grammar lesson, here's one for you ; it's but not bad. Writing less for lesser mistakes is also very much relevant in your case.

even if the city council build's the safety measures required it will still not make a difference if pedestrians are not educated about using them

Under no circumstances should a pedestrian cross a highway from a point other than a designated crossing point. The problem with Kenyan roads is that roads are built with only vehicles in mind; they do not walkways at the side, they do not have crossing points. Highways should either be fenced where pedestrians may be tempted to cross or fly-overs built but we'll have to wait till 2050, I guess.
