  • that helped ALOT! thank you!

If the wing goes past the bend of the hook do you get alot of short strikes?

  • @cancerkid888 sometimes but more so you'll find that the wing will get fouled up by wrapping around the bend of the hook while casting...

  • also not to load up your box but im new to trout streamers. Do you fish this with a jerk strip retreive or what?

  • @cancerkid888 this fly should be anywhere between 2-5 inches in length depending on what size you tie (just make sure the wing doesn't go past the bend of the hook)...any streamer hook would suffice but i wouldn't go any less than 2X long just to keep the proportions in check...you can fish this pattern how ever you wish from an active jerk strip to dead drifting...let the fish decide what kind of retrieve they want...hope this helps...

  • do you think this would be a good fly for big rainbows?

  • @cancerkid888 absolutely...one of my favorite colors for 'bows is the rainbow diamond braid with a black wing and collar...
