Hard hitting drama about two sadistic psychos terrorizing the passengers on a NYC subway train late at night. Tony Musante's performance as one of the bad guys is Oscar worthy (imo) - and you have never seen Martin Sheen like this before (I believe this was his screen debut).

Martin Sheen
Beau Bridges

  • Great film, one of the best EVER! Shot in a $15.000 makeshift subway car at the biograph studios in the Bronx. The MTA only "cooperated" up to a point.

  • One Of the most overlooked films in history A movie masterpiece :-) :-)

  • @bambarn5678 boy u know ur sh@#! The new Pelham with John Travolta an Denzel Washington wasn't like the original. I also remember the movie the French Connection with the subway scenes. Subway crime really started getting bad in the early 70's, an then the graffitti was bad too an the trains were filthy. It changed now. Great movie, how did it do in the box office, an how did the critics rate it? I appreciate your knowledge.

  • @aldeb456 The TA in those days of a rise in subway crime did NOT want to alienate the riding Public by "Adding" to Crime "Stats" in fantasy which many may construe as fact.Today they are SO broke for ANY substantial money ANY film with ANY Storyline is acceptable. The original Pelham 123 actually went DEEP into the inner workings OF the subway system,by showing it's faults and showing the public how to hi-jack a subway car...this was 1974 I believe when money really started to talk to them.

  • @travismcgee25 NO. 4 Train

  • @bambarn5678 Why did the TA only cooperated to a point?

  • those are the kind of dudes u wanna punch a hole in their faces then fell sorry for them later for being stupid! x0]
