my view of the song is that its the life of a suicidel person, say that every thing that goes wrong (papercuts the coffees never strong) is what they think the world's going against them along with more painful things like cheating lovers. 'Dont feed me violins' (dont make it any harder for me) and 'Run with me through rows of speeding cars' (Just come with me to a better world) Then the chorus goes to the friends point of view saying that non of us are perfect and its just a phase of growing up

@felinerx1 i think its about depression-having a friend who is depressed-eventually it reaches a point where you dont even want to deal with them anymore because it hurts you so much but they are your friend so you love them anyway.you try to convince then the rainbow will come,but even when its sunny they only see the rain.you want your friend to get over it and hope they wont but they dont even know how much it hurts you when they say they will.its about that pain i think.

Okay for the people who are wondering what the song is about, Imogen is singing to a lover about forgiving them for cheating on her. (Idk if it's a true story or not, but this is my understanding of the song.) She's telling them to stop worrying about it, because it's all in the past, and mistakes are part of growing up, so get over it. That's essentially it. It's a song of forgiveness.
