i relate. i've been nice to people my whole life and all they do is fuck me over.

OK, I really like KoRn and this is a great song and all. But this hatred of Mr. Rogers is a bit melodramatic.

I think its funny that most of you are completely missing the point of the song, yes its about mr rogers but its also a metaphor for the childhood abuse that JD endured. I cant even be bothered to explain it its something you either get or you dont

@bankotsu14 Read Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morals. Lying to humans about how human beings're really good by nature rather than wild animals ready to tear each other apart over a piece of meat is something philosophers've been doing forever. Homer told it like it is, & that's why Homer's a thousand times superior to Mr Rogers, but Mr Rogers is a fucking kids' show! His idea was that if kids were taught to be nice, they would be nice. He was naive maybe, maybe a failure, but not detestable.

I think the point is not to fill children's minds with bullshit like life is all perfect and every person you meet will be an angel. Nor to say all the contrary. Just say the truth and show both sides of the story not to let them be surprised by the horrible things. Just imagine something like this: you are going to hug someone with all your love and that person suddlently slaps and spits on you.. how would it feel? But if you already know what are the possible reactions, you'll be more careful

they shoud play this song live its my favorite i love playing the main riff on my guitar
Right: Jonathan loved watching Mr Rogers. As a result, he was incredibly nice to everyone, and he basically got fucked over by the belief that if you love and are kind to people, they will be the same back. As for being "felt up", he was raped as a small boy by an unspecified individual (some claim it was family, some claim it was a neighbour)... and that's in the song "Daddy", and nothing to do with this song.

Ugh, okay, Boma, Jonathan was raped by a neighbour when he was a small boy. You're looking at the wrong song for that though - that's documented in "Daddy". This song is about Jonathan having loved watching Mr Rogers and been kind towards everyone as a result and he got screwed over.
