  • if so what makes it misleading. If you are going to make a statement at least provide an explanation.

  • @IqbalHamid

    [Continued...]

Quantum physics predicts a lot of nonsense like parallel universes and cats being alive and dead at the same time, but if the premises upon which it is based is wrong (see my previous comment), then I am not surprised at he silly results. Garbage, In, Garbage Out!!!

PLEASE COMMENT!. TELL ME WHERE I HAVE GONE WRONG (If indeed, I have). Thanks.

  • Am I right?:

DeBroglie equated the energy of the photons, E= hf, to nuclear energy (m.c.c) + Kinetic Energy (p.v/2). SURELY THIS IS WRONG(!!!) as you are not comparing like with like here.

You are equating the energy of a PHOTON with the energy of an ELECTRON. Surely this is WRONG!

WHY DOES THIS MATTER? Well the whole of quantum physics rest on the physics whic followed fom Debroglie. For example, Heisenbeg's Uncertainty Principle and all that followed.

    [Continued in my reply...]

  • @RockeraLoca :B ^_^

  • @RockeraLoca I asked about gamma rays down there, I know said rays are obviously part of the spectrum, and their potentially devastating effects. In any case, I want to read what great insight you may have.

  • @RockeraLoca Con Gamma rays tambien? =)

  • The photoelectric effect works as well with all the other electromagnetic radiations from the spectrum... it's just easier to test the photoelectric effect with visible and ultraviolet because we can see it XD specially with old school technology like the one showed in the video (classic h/e experiment from the late 1800's early 1900's) :B

  • @Alizak97 The yellow light is light, which carries energy with it, that's photoelecric effect - light shines on a metal and electrons come off, the light is made of particles called photons that carry little pieces of energy, when it reaches the electron it makes it move really fast and so fast that it leaves the metal plate. The electron that left the metal we call it "photoelectron" because the photon of light gave it energy to escape.

  • but can the plate run out of electrons ?

  • great..

  • its fine.

  • How does yellow light make the electrons move?

  • Some mention of the work function might be nice ?

  • This doesn't go deep enough in the explanation.

  • ya its good to understand and now i got it.

  • I suppose the video talks about visible light. What about the other aspects of the spectrum?

  • this is very misleading, do not use this as a reference.
