@vicweb1978 Just to help you out professor. They are second and not first. This is a regional phenomenon that would not be congruent to our locale, and finally they are certainly high ranking in oil production. So, before you attempt to come out and embarrass another, know from whence you speak and realize your own incapabilities whoch are evidently massive.

Well it looks like after reading this wiki page: Energy_policy_of_Brazil
It appears that Bill is technically wrong, because Brazil does produce oil, However, it is also noted that they are a net oil exporter, and the ethanol thing is still true. In the end, Bill probably should have done his homework before claiming that "Brazil got off oil" but honestly, I've heard sooo many crazier and dumber things come from the right that it's laughable to see conservatives nit-pick at this statement.

@rheniumlake It's research shows we're using FOOD for FUEL, and obviously that isn't GREEN. By the way, and this goes without argument, Brazil producing oil doesn't mean they USE all of it; they know, just like everybody else, burning of ethanol IS CLEANER than burning of fossil fuel.

@calvingeorge no he said they got OFF oil, not that they supplemented oil usage. OFF OIL those were his exact words.
@Blackouttsi2 So this is a hilarious comment by Bill, considering that Brazil has become a booming oil nation overnight. Its now in the top 10 of oil producing countries due to oil exploration and offshore drilling...what we should be doing here

@Blackouttsi2 That's just crap. They are not in the top 10 oil producing countries in the world, and they are the world's no.1 bio-fuel producing country; and if you that "we should be doing" is not investing in alternate energy sources, but continuing to feed an oil-driven economy in the face of sky-rocketing fuel prices and potential environmental catastrophe, then you're either not thinking or you're incapable of thinking.
