If journalists would know in deep about his life history as well as his reputation as a scholar they would ask better questions. I would for sure, encourage people to read his books as well as other scholars before stating no truths about his person.

Just listen to his lectures in french and english, read his articles (and books) and think again who is """controversial""" when consistency and values REALLY matter:
Google Tariq Ramadan and visit his website.
Amanpour managed to go SO low in less then 3 minutes...

He's an integrist, I should have said integrist maybe not islamist, if by islamist you only mean salafists. He's a salafi reformer.
Ramadan is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, that's a fact, just because he doesn't say he is doesn't mean he isn't: it's a secret brotherhood and most members don't actually say they are. However, the fact that Ramadan teaches Hassan Al Banna's doctrine, quotes Qaradawi and has even written a preface for one of his books, shows he's one.

and others..
It's desperate to see so many people criticizing him without reading any of his books, or calling him an Islamist without providing any proof. First, he's not a part of the Muslim Brotherhood, and then, If he was an 'Islamist' as you say, he wouldn't be banned from six Arab countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc).. so get your facts right please.
Is there anywhere i can watch the whole of this interrogation?

1st time - 1:50:
"Myself, in my position, It is all against implementing, not only stoning"
2nd time - 2:25:
"My position is quite clear, I'm against implementing them"
Patrickemin, you might want to learn english before posting stupid comments, Tariq Ramadan has always said the same thing, he's against it, but calls for a moratorium intra-muslims ulamas because muslims countries follow the holy quran. It's as simple as that.
