Young voters may hold key to '08 race

Oct 27 - Both political parties are making a strong pitch this year for young voters-- in recognition of how large and how vocal this demographic group is.For Barack Obama, youth voters have been a reliable demographic group at rallies and in terms of getting out the vote on college campuses. The big question now is whether all of these young voters will actually come out and vote on election day.

oxfe... but you are right, some young voters do get it. But if a person hears one word and thinks that that by itself will make the world better, they have another thing coming. You need to look at a persons background and believe system history like whether or not they hang out with people that once set off bomb in this country and don't feel bad about it to this day. Obama-selling out American Values est. 2008. All these young people will start to change their votes when all the change & hope riff raff wears off, they get into the real world & the unemployment rate that went from 5% to 9.7% after Obama's "stimulus package". Vote Republican!

Part of that is because we aborted 1/3 of my generation (I'm 31).

Sadly, that's also a big contributing factor for how fast social security is going bankrupt. There's a lot less new people paying into the system than there are drawing from the system. Also, people live longer now than they have in the past.

At this point people my age don't see secial security as a promise. It's just another tax.

They say this bullshit EVERY election cycle and it just isn't true because young people are not the largest voting segment of the population. Actually, they are quite small.

Sorry young voters,... I would much rather trust the opinion of the older more knowlegable and well-read voters. You need to be in this world a whole lot longer to really know and understand what is best for this country. You will see what I mean when you are older...

Young Americans want to be called to perform national service. Young Americans want to be able to afford college. Young Americans want to see the economy improving.
