  • after 8 years of GWBush and the act of propping up Sarah Palin as a runner on the vice president ticket...which sane middle class, freedom loving citizen of this great nation would vote GOP? Republicans have run this country into the ground.

  • If you like Al & the ideals he stands for please Google his name & it will take you to his campaign site.If you can afford to contribute even just $3.-$10. it will surely help. This is beacause Al's is a grass roots campaign funded by small contributions (unlike his opponents which is bought& paid for by corpoate America that are just buying influence!).Al's interests are those of the average person. You don't have to live in MN to help/contribute to Mr. Franken. Please do your part.

  • Al is the man.

  • Here's another few mind boggling facts on the incosistencies of ideological terms:

Stalin threw socialists & social democrats in GULag. I know my Russian history.

The RW fringe have now started using arguments that Hitler was a socialist, even though he threw socialists as well as commies in the same camps. Dachau, Esterwgen (Carl von Ossietzky died there in 1936) and Sachsenhausen were basically built up by these political prisoners.

Liberalism means different things on different contients.

  • @bohemianwriter1

NeoConservatives use a tent word of conservatism to be safe but they are fascist, nationalist, and militaristic. Neocons dont call themselves fascist because it brings thoughts of nazi germany just like liberals dont like being called socialist because we are strongly opposed to communism.

Did you know in the USSR Those who promoted Marxism where reffered to "conservatives" and those of leninism where called "Radicals". Its all relative to one's point of view. It's B.S.

  • And where would you put neo conservatism in this ranking?

I was in my previous comment merely describing how I percieve what is going on today...

And as for socialism, or social democracy which most Europe have, it does have many benefits.

One thing is theory, ideology & philosophy

The other thing is how it's practiced & common sense.....

US liberals are still far from what you can call a socialist.

    Specially in European terms

  • @bohemianwriter1 Let me fix this for you

Radicalism: Attackers of of a sociaties wrong doings

Liberalism: A repeal of social norms or injustices

    Moderates: Fixed position Equilibrium

    Conservative: Upholding Traditon above change

Reactionary: those who want to push a sociaty back into a previous position.

Those are the classical definitions of thoses terms it doesnt really mean anything. A better definition would be Socialist for liberals and militaristic fascists for Republicans

  • An enemy of freedom of speech?

Liberalism: the only guarantee for freedoim & American constitution:

Conservatism: Mental disorder in ppl who dream of "the good old days"...

American conservatism: A guarantee of bigotry, war monering & corporate fascism...

  • Franken is very smart guy. Probably one of the smartest members of the senate.

  • Yyyya . . . . I don't think he's going to have enough spare time for movie appaerances for, at least, the next 5 years or so - sorry.
