Why the fuck does Obama have to apologize?! All he said was the police officer was acting stupid, and for God's sake, of course he was acting stupid. You can't just get arrested for trying to get into your own home. I'm so sick and tired of America getting all mad when someone protests excessive police force. Of course the police were out of line, he was just trying to go inside his own fucking home. The pres has every right to call that out as stupid police behavior.

The asshole wasn't just doing his job. The professor didn't invite him into the house (police need a warrant to do that) but he came in anyway. After the professor provided proof that he was the owner of the house, the asshole then arrested him. The cause? Because the professor asked for his name and badge number? You mean you can't do anything if a cop treats you unfairly? I didn't see how the professor did anything wrong. These assholes need to be accountable to the law as civilians are.

The cops brought race in and they arrested the man for disorderly conduct because they were ashamed that he actually DID live there not only that but the woman on the phone said that they possibly lived there there was no excuse for this. Listen the the DAMN TAPE!

President Obama owes no apology -- he was correct when he said that Crowley acted stupidly in arresting Gates. Under Massachusetts state law (which has been tested in several precedent-setting court cases) it is NOT illegal to berate an officer or hurl abusive language at an officer, even during an arrest. This was a classic "attitude arrest," which is simply not legal in Massachusetts. The arrest was more than just "stupid," it was a false arrest and an abuse of police power.
