What is ironic is the fact that so many red states have such high poverty rates. Mississippi, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas and Alabama all have the highest poverty rates. Yet, those are the states that the country should emulate according to the GOP and Newt. Ridiculous

Tired of obama and the libs blaming bush, it is sooo old. The dems took the Senate and the Congress in 2004, so the mess Barry got was the mess Barry made!! Bush added 3 trillion to r national debt in 8 years, the libs were screaming bloody murder. Obama had added 5 trillion in 3 years, the same libs are strangely quiet. HYPOCRITES!!

If you like socialism so much move to France, nobody will miss you. Most Americans are getting hip to stupid Democratic policies.

@bowchickabowbow Texas also has more non-white citizens than most of the other states. This explains why Texas students as a whole have lower SAT scores and Texas has higher poverty.

@Nickm252 you right wingers play the victim card better than anyone I've ever seen. You guys are the victims of the "liberal media", "liberal academia", "liberal billionaires" and practically all non-whites. Sheesh, you guys complain about being victims an awful lot for a party that so overtly touts personal responsibility.

@bowchikabowbow Brilliant commentary both in your video and your reply. I once saw a discussion with William F. Buckley where he argued the distinction between Left & Right is that the Right doesn't predicate its arguments on the basis of victim/oppressor;that was the hallmark of the Left according to him. Yet - as you rightly point out - all these righties talk about is how they are oppressed by government, minorities, George Soros, etc... It's like they've become right-wing Marxists!

@mikepalomino Glad to see that someone else noticed. I forgot to include affirmative action, illegal immigration and the malicious actions of the federal reserve on the list of things that are victimizing conservatives on a daily basis.
