...The TCC believes it is bad public policy to make it more difficult for Texans and Legal Permanent Residents to transfer money to Latin American countries. Imposition of these fees will punish and marginalize hardworking people in our communities. For example, many LPR's, who are working hard to improve their financial futures and become citizens, will be burdened by an eight percent transfer fee every time they send money to Latin American countries.

As a church without borders, our faith community serves those who immigrate to our country and many who choose not to leave their home countries. We see why people make these choices and it seems that if our laws make it tougher for private individuals to send money home then there will be more incentive for more people to migrate to our country...
