If you go through part 1/3, you will know that Ouyang was not in the team in middle of 1984. At 8 minute of part 1/3, we know there is no suitable person for Baoyu in July 1984, so there is no way to show the TV series in 1984 Chinese New Year (this was said around 9 minute in part 2/3). I think the first showing of this TV series was in early 1987 during Chinese New Year. This is the mistake I think.

You can also verify this by looking at 5:25 in this part, "it is Autumn of 1984, Ouyang..."

Here it said it was 1984 when he went to for INTERVIEW, it takes time to make the series.

Thus, the movie started in 1984 and finish in 1987.... matches

There is a mistake at the end of this segment. It was NOT 1984 should be 1987 (Spring), when the TV series was shown first time. Even the newspaper is dated 1987.
