First of all the background music sucks. Second, beneath the ethereal beauty you could detect a mischievous. almost tomboyish quality that just can't wait to tear off the glamor trappings and race across a field naked under the sun.

I think people made more of a to do about her films than she did. She liked simplicity- the extravagance of Hollywood wasn't her cup of tea at all. Now the most logical question would be why didn't she just go back to Sweden, and I wouldn't know the answer to that except by this time, the fourties, I think all her immediate family was dead :(
