I find it fucking hilarious, but still sorta disturbing. I can't imagine what audiences in 71 thought the first time they saw this scene.

@Angeldemonboy It's the tone of wonka's voice which does it for me, and the fact they don't know where they're rowing to. Not sure what does it for other people, I guess it's the uncertainty, though if I'm in other states of mind I couldn't give a fuck.

Oddly enough, this scene never did and still hasn't bothered me. I really don't know why people are so weirded out by this scene.

This should be what the end of the "It's a small world" ride at Disneyland is like. It'd be great if it just happened without people knowing (which direction they are going).
