IMPORTANT UPDATE: There are now only 3 veterans remaining as of February 19, 2010. Fernand Goux passed away on November 9, 2008 and Pierre Picault on November 20, 2009. Bill Stone died of a chest infection on January 10, 2009, Ned Hughes passed away on April 4, 2009, Jack Ross on June 3, 2009, Henry Allingham on July 18, 2009, and Harry Patch on July 25, 2009. The most recent death was that of John Babcock, on February 18. Also, a new female veteran named Florence Green has been located and is set to be included in my next video.

This is a Veterans Day slideshow tribute to the world's ten surviving World War I veterans. They live on to tell others exactly what happened over ninety years ago.

  • @bobgladstone I found out that Florence had her funeral today..

  • @berserker276 Not yet but will get hold of a copy to watch. Thanks

  • @bobgladstone Lol, still younger than both my parents. My dad is 65.. so you seen the film?

  • @berserker276 yes 51 years young :)

  • @bobgladstone It's a good film but it's not exactly a war film and it's quite sad, it focuses on Rudyard Kipling/man who wrote The Jungle Book and his son Jack who wants to fight in WWI but can't because of his poor eyesight.. I think you'd like it. And that means you're 32 years older than me according to your YouTube channel.

  • @berserker276 Having served myself and had a son serving in Afghanistan I can understand the stress and pain No I havent seen the film is it any good?

  • @bobgladstone "How'd you like to be a mother or a father to a son never coming back?" I think the film My Boy Jack portrays that sadness quite well, it's about Jack Kipling in WWI who was MIA.. you seen it?

  • @berserker276 I agree she did her bit as did all those back home in the municians factories, farms etc a tough time to live with death an ever present fear on a daily basis

  • @bobgladstone Still technically a member of the armed forces and therefore a veteran of WWI though? And yeah it is sad, I can't believe it really, The Lost Generation is now truly lost and WWI is now officially only in the history books. She was in the WRAF I think the Women's Royal Air Force.
