It's not radio waves, it's only due to the magnet inside the speaker of your phone. I'm sure that if you turn off your phone and pull out the battery it will do the same thing.

I used to work at a video store, and I would notice the effects of the static and noise that is emitted from the TV when a customer would be near it when their cell phone would ring...sometimes they had it on vibrate, but I always knew when someone was receiving a phone call...KILL YOUR CELL PHONE!
