The Evolution of Final Fantasy [23] Carbuncle

Part 23 in a series that takes a look at the history of one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time, chronicling the many recurring themes, characters and monsters that have appeared over the years. This entry focuses on the magical squirrel thingamajig, Carbuncle. Enjoy!

Notes regarding this video (please read before commenting!):

- For the entire series, I have simply gathered video footage from various sources on YouTube and compiled them together. I've done this only to entertain the many fans of Final Fantasy here on YouTube, so with that said, many thanks to all the folks who took the time to record the game footage.

- Again, for the whole series, I've focused solely on the main games. Remakes and updates of those games are featured, but I've opted to skip games like Tactics, FFX-2 and such. I had to draw the line somewhere to keep a reasonable length.

- Missing the Emerald Light summon that Carby does in FFIX.

@ImperialEarthEmpire actually Final Fantasy XI's carbuncle is the most helpful of them all. gives regen, boosts pro and shell, can increase random stats, can restore HP AND you can keep it next to you to fight monsters, not to mention that if you use its 2 hour ability it can kill almost everything around it depending on the level or at least do a lot of damage

I told my bro that Carbuncle was originally created by Game Freak and it was meant to be a Pokémon, but it fleed. He answered that they replaced it by Mewtwo.

in final fantasy three there is a monster named carbuncle. and it looks nothing like the other carbuncle and its really ugly, like some jelly like brain or something like that
