Killing in the Name of Rage Against the Machine RATM cover Jem (Belper School)

I 'm really into RATM. I like Tom Morello's guitar style and love playing his songs. I learnt to play this a while ago but I hadn't got a digitech whammy pedal until recently...thanks dad ;-) The pedal takes a bit of getting used to and it does some strange things. I can' t tune my guitar with it connected coz even when it is meant to be switched off it seems to affect the tuning and when you use it (don't know whether it's because I am in a small room) it makes everything really sensitive! When you turn it back off after using it you get some really weird feedback noise...but it's great fun! In this song it shifts the pitch 2 octaves, it really makes it scream.!
Recently when I went to a practice session at Mark's house from Midlife Crisis I was just warming up and I started playing this song, almost immediatley Sean (bass player) and Chris (drummer) came in and we jammed the whole song all the way through...it sounded amazing! I would really like to play this song with the band but I don't think it will happen anytime soon as Kev (rhythm guitarist) isn't into RATM! Lol :-D. Sorry about the sound quality, I think it has distorted a bit with the mic on the camera in such a small room also I had everything turned up to 11 Lol :)

Aw man , you gotta talk kev into playing this, I know alotta bands close with this song and people go nutz. You 'll get used to the sensetivity of that pedal, in a month or two you'll wonder how you were ever able to live without it!

Great to hear from you!

I don't think I'll be able to persuade Kev, thing is, you only really need 1 guitar for this song and Idon't think Kev would like me taking over LOL! I only play with Midlife Crisis sometimes and I am really looking to get a band together myself.

I have started writing my own stuff, trouble is I am no good with words so finding some lyrics is big problem! i can come up with riffs, licksand solos all day long lol!
