Meade StarNavigator 102. Sorry for the random pauses, got a little nervous. Anyways, I got a good look at the moon before the the earth's rotation would make that impossible. No stars were visible, woke up too late. It's been really cloudy, that's why I have to get up in the morning when it's normally clear. If you have ANY recommendations for the maintaining of the scope or addons or gadgets, please feel free to tell me. Thanks guys :)

  • I bought one too. I could not align it very accurately yet. But the thing bothering me is that it makes annoying noise when tracking (after you push the ' go to' button). Do you have that noise?

  • @wendylin11 You mean the groaning noise? IF it is, that's the telescope's motors spinning up. No need to be worried about it.

  • @meshuggahismylife What I mean is not the sound of the motors when slewing, but the 'beeping sound' when tracking.

  • @wendylin11 Oh, well I have no idea what that is. I have been able to use it yet, it's been so damn cloudy here =/

  • @Mark48152 Focal length of 800mm divided by 9mm = 89X magnification You can double it or triple it with the Barlow accessory lens.

  • Also the internet is full of great astronomy forums of people sharing info. Remember Your telescope has better optics than Galileo, Enjoy

  • The pictures on the box and in magazines are obtained with special technics. Forget about those for now. When you find planets like Saturn and it's rings, Jupiter and its bands and moons,The moon and it's craters. To Look a the Andromeda Galaxy is amazing. My point is appreciate what you see in the scope and not what people produce through long exposure photos.

  • Can someone send some pictures from this thing. I am not very confident that it doesn't list the power or show photos from the actual sky. I don't give a rip about some computer generated program. I want to see the real planets, the moons, the satellites etc. Can this telescope do this? Please send me pictures or give me a site of some from this telescope - please/thank you. I am not confident this is anything more than a good piece of computer software. K-mart has something better for 600x.
