He's right. Big brand shaving stuff is stupid and pointless, like tongue cleaners on toothbrushes they are inventing pointless new things to get a 1-up over the competition and marketing it like crazy. No wonder razer blades are the most shop-lifted item they are insanely overpriced.

Can someone give me some tips? I just purchased the Merkur 38c, a badger brush, and a bar of soap. Usually when I shave I use downward motions, straight downward motions.
But after the shave I can still feel the hairs on my face, if I use upwards strokes I get a smooth shave. Should I just go downwards like the man in this video. My haircolor is darkblond, and my facial hair is black so how do I figure out which direction I should shave? I hate razorbumps / cuts
