Much of Arizona experiences "monsoon" rains from mid-June to mid-September. This rainstorms are not like typical rainstorms in other parts of the country. First, they are widely scattered, making it possible for you to be in a sunny area, watching heavy rain occurring just a few miles away--and maybe even seeing a rainbow there. In this clip, a heavy rain has just started, yet a look at the sky shows some clouds are white and fluffy, and large patches of blue sky show. But directly overhead, "It was a dark and stormy day." The temperature dropped over 20 Fahrenheit degrees in a matter of minutes!
