Faye Wong's impressive Mandopop song 兩個人的聖經 (Lianggeren De Shengjing) from the album Faye Wong (2001). English title of this song is 'Two Person's Bible'. Name is inspired by 'One Man's Bible' (一个人的圣经, 1998), a great novel and masterpiece by Nobel Laureate Gao Xingjian (高行健).
This is a fan-made music video. Movies shots on the video are taken from a Hong Kong film, starring Faye Wong and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai. In that funny drama comedy Tony Leung is a sentimental, broken-hearted cop who meets the new girl (Faye Wong) at the snack bar.
I found lyrics from this website: http://www.wongfaye.org/
English translation by Bunnies, Bunnies Everywhere!
I dedicate this video to Gao Xingjian, my Chinese favorite writer. Live long and prosper, mister Gao, and please write more books! (^_^)

Two Person's Bible
Music: Wu Bai
Lyrics: Lin Xi
Arranged by: Wu Bai
Producer: Wu Bai
The two of us
We became friends at first meeting
Three words, two phrases*
A thousand changes, ten thousand guises*
Seven emotions, six desires*
A lifetime of perfection
And then the two of us
We were in agreement
[We've been through] a thousand trials and tribulations
In the middle of the night
We make the four seas our home*
We have nothing, yet we still fall in love
One room, one bed
Two people, always sleeping
One moment, one instant
A lifetime
Has passed unnoticed
A solemn pledge of love
I promise to not to fear death
A solemn pledge of love
I'm willing to look forward eagerly
A solemn pledge of love
I support love all the way
A solemn pledge of love
I pledge never to regret
In the end the two of us
It's just one's wishful thinking
While there's still a breath left [in my body]
The four elements are meaningless*
[If] the two of us strive together
We would still be able
To satisfy both sides
* Lin Xi makes use of Chinese idiomatic expressions that contain numbers in these lyrics. Basically, each verse is composed entirely of these "numerical" idioms. Where possible, I've tried to incorporate these numbers into the English translations, but in many cases it was extremely difficult to do so while preserving coherence and meaning. Below are some of the expressions that were translated literally and their actual meanings:
Three words, two phrases: In very few words.
A thousand changes, ten thousand guises: Everchanging.
Seven emotions: the seven human emotions, including joy, anger, sorrow, fear, love, hate, and desire.
[Make] the four seas [one's] home: Make one's home wherever one is. Four elements are meaningless: Used in Buddhism to mean that everything is meaningless, that all hopes, goals, and achievements will come to nothing; the four elements include earth, water, fire, and wind.
