Really loved this video. May I remind that when the student is ready, the teacher will show up? It is up to the student own intellectual curiosity to relate content to your own life. How else are you going to think for yourself, be creative, independent and survive in this world? The government will take over where the teacher leaves off, for those who are lackluster with their own intelligence. I have been a student, and an instructor. You can't be spoonfed and thrive. Teachers, inspire.
Very typical, unfortunately. Students who feel this way should just leave, and free up faculty resources for those who do give a damn and are willing to self motivate. When did faculty become expected to serve the role of parents?
I appreciate the responses of the faculty to the original film and for students to take an active role in responding to the faculty. I wish the student's response shared the constructive spirit that the faculty response did. Even when I think they are agreeing, it reads like complaining. There are some points that point out some specific problems with the assumptions in the faculty response and those are helpful.
