How to fix 'black screen' and other Minecraft problems, if you break Minecraft with themes, modding or other tweaks then you'll need this tip to get you back up and running.

hey :) i have a problem that when i click login, with al the right information it says "minecraft not downloaded" please help! im runnng MAc osx version 10.6.8 and nothing i do will let it login! i deleted everything on minecraft on the computer and downloaded it again, but it still says "not downloaded"! please help!

@bobthetomatoerox when you say you deleted everything do you mean everything in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin? If not delete the bin folder (no need to deleted your saves, etc.)

Else, click the force update option.

i've done this repeatedly and i'm still stuck at a black screen, is there any other way to fix it?

@anestitotembeli If you have done something more serious you will need to

1. go to ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/

2. Delete the bin folder.

3. Empty trash

4. Run the game again

@michaelroseagain i deleted everything. and when i clicked force update and logged in it still did the dame thing. (it sayed not downloaded)

I've looked everywhere for help, as I couldn't find the Minecraft install folders so couldn't install texture or download 1.8 :( .. But you've just helped me fix it in 30 seconds!! Thank you! You earned yourself a sub and a like! (:
