Amtrak 6 @ Colfax, 02/14/09 Prt 1

Amtrak 6 first pulls short of the Colfax Amtrak station, to wait for clearance to proceed up the hill. Then, Amtrak 6 is told that it will have to wait for the Flanger the it piloting Amtrak 5 down the hill to turn around and guide it up the hill first.

But, the nice crew asks the dispatcher if they could first pull up to the station, and then make a reverse move back to where they were waiting. The DS gives them the track warrent for this, and they are allowed to do so.

Really AWESOME shots of #6 sitting there in the snow with the trees etc in the background!! LoL, is that your doggie romping in the snow about 2:02 ?? Was the dude you were talking to about 7:00 trying to get to the other side to get on the train, LoL?? Great video!!

Ya, that guy was a passenger who thought the train would still be sitting there when he came back. So he took a walk into town, but when the train pulled in, he didn't beat it to the plateform. So he had to run around the Entire back side of the train to get on.

My Zephyr in Truckee vid is actually a bit more hard cor'er than this vid because I shot the train as the snow was falling. My vid is 100% hard core this one is 99% hard core, my vid is 1% more hard core than this, LOL, L/K.

BTW: I shot vid of Amtrak's southbound Coast Starlight train number 11 at the Gaviota Bridge same day you shot this vid.

James... I have yet to upload my shot of the Zephyr at Truckee from yesterday. It is alomst like your shot of Amtrak 5, but more snow is coming down.

Alrighty. We shall see how that one turns out. BTW: If you search my youtube account I have a shot of 6 passing through Colfax in the summer and I also have a shot of a CSX engine leading a UP auto train through Colfax.
