I think everyones Aikido will look and be different, if the footwork looks bad to you it's not because your footwork is better, it's because it's what feels better to him, Aikido becomes a part of who you are and how YOU move, and when you try and make it robotic with footwork etc. You are only criticizing yourself, that's why when they asked O Sensei what Aikido was he said
"When I move That's Aikido" and it should be the same for us all.

this young guy@ future doshu, have to go others place, like iwama or yoshinkqan to make his technic to be better, let su focus to his taisabaki, his movement juz like a ballerina dancing,, his back leg was hanging.

I think I know the video you are referring to. It appears to me to be an accident, these things do happen from time to time. Aikido is a martial art after all. I was not there, but from what I can see it was not intentional. Myself and many others have seen people intentionally try to hurt others in technique and this is not the case here. From all your comments I just think you have some type bone to pick. What ever it is it is your problem not there's.

ah sorry - i mean the OTHER video where he hurt his first uke. but my point is the same.

give him a BREAK? what about the shoulder of the first uke that he nearly broke (or did break). he had terrible control. i do not feel safe being his uke. and he IS waka sensei after all - the next DOSHU - and he should be better. i'm not asking for perfection but i think he should just be better than this. i think it's fair to demand this and subject him to greater scrutiny. aikido has made his family millionaires for crap's sake. so he better walk the talk.

I think his footwork and posture is perfectly alright; and i think his application of the technique is very nice and smooth - and powerful: you can tell that he 'harmonised' with his uke.

That's what is wrong with these big associations. The stupid pecking order. It should be O.K. to point out that this guy's technique is with a total lack of understanding.

for a waka sensei, he looks ordinary at best. bad footwork. sloppy posture
Give him a break he's only in his twenties. I can't imagine the kind of pressure he must feel. Being who he is people like you are going to be looking for every little excuse to pick on the poor guy. If he was not a Ueshiba and you saw this young guy practicing you would probably not judge him so hard.

To be fair he's still a young man with his whole (trainning) life ahead of him and at least 30-40 years before a a vacancy for the top spot is going to be open.
