@Babih57 Religion did not create science and since NOBODY even knows what the first religion was, I can easily dismiss your claim that all civilizations owe their existence to religion. If anything, civilization would probably be at least 100 years more advanced and developed in accordance to the Kardashev Scale had mankind been free of the retarding effects of theistic-religion. The non-theistic nations mentioned aren't just successful, they're the most successful.

@Babih57 Hitler was also heavely inspired by the bible BTW. When observing the bible, you can't just pick and choose the "nice" parts from the vile parts. You have to take in all of it. What you call extremists are simply people who are sincere enough to observe the entire bible, instead of just cherry picking the "nice" parts. Also, I can assure you that any "atheist extremism" is 100% the result of religion. Without religion and it's MANY attrocities, there would be "atheist extremism".

@Babih57 I NEVER said anything about "atheist countries". I said NON-THEIST countries and while atheists do fall under the catagory of non-theist, so do agnostics and even deists (wich I suppose is what you are). Belief in creator god(s) isn't the problem. It's when people start making gnostic claims that produces bad things. For every "nice message" in the bible, there's an example of Jehovah committing attrocities that Hitler wouldn't be capable of.

@Babih57 It was also what allowed in the past the beggining of science. I am not against religion or against atheism. But I know how manipulative religion can be, and that's why I am not catholic since a long time ago even if I believe in God. The problem is not the religion, the problem is what people make with it. In the bible there are nice mensages of respect and love, and this not a problem at all. The main problem is the extremism, and it exists in atheists and in believers.

@incomprehensible14 Let me clarify, I didn't say that atheist countries can't be successful. And if what you call atheist country is the same as Secular State I agree. Secular states allow different people and opinions to live together. And I know that religion is a dangerous thing, specially its persuasion power. But ironically was this hability that was crucial in the beggining of humanity. It was the main reason why people got together and started the first civilizations.
