  • I can't believe my luck to have her in my town the day before my birthday! I didn't even know she came out West! Yippee! I love this song!

  • What's your town?

  • This song is "folking" amazing. Brilliant. The most interesting part about it all is that I just purchased The Decemberists' sophomore album "Her Majesty" which has a track called Chimbley Sweep. The song was written in 2004ish and sounds exactly like it. I'm not going to say she copied it because I think both of the songs derive from a more authoritive source. If anyone likes this song they need to check out the track I just mentioned.

  • I just did a little research on this song, which it turns out was written by Eric Andersen, not Eilen, and originally recorded it in 1965.

  • @crocostimpy That's correct it was written by Eric Andersen, who came up in the Greenwich Village folk scene in the 60's along side Bob Dylan, Phil Oches & more. Joni Mitchell sang backups on his Blue River album, & his songs have been covered by many greats. Still very active today. Chk him out! Plus he's from BUFFALO, like me! Ok born in Pittsburg but grew up in B'lo, as did many other talented songwriters like Chris Trapper who is SOOOO worth checking out. Has like 100 vids here on y'tube.

  • Santa Cruz, Ca.

  • She is brilliant! I'd sure love to see her. She can sure pick the perfect material for herself. This song has the Depression era sound that is so perfect for these days! Go Eilen!

  • Who needs drugs - brilliant!

  • That's right, it's a cover of an Eric Andersen song first released in 1970. Excellent version by EJ.
