This is a clip from the film "The Competition". Amy Irving actually had some training in classical piano so those are her hands you see playing in every shot. There were no "stunt" hands used for any of the actors in the movie. The music you hear in this clip, however, is actually performed by Daniel Pollack.
AWFUL PIANO PERFORMANCE...

I just love this performance! I could watch it 100 times.

Me llama la atención sus técnica para el glisando. Pompa Baldi, al tocar este mismo concierto, no desliza los dedos sobre el teclado sino que toca carrerillas muy veloces. El efecto producdo es diferente al que percibo en esta versión de Amy Irving.

At least they practised, so they could make it look real while they were playing.
I used to play the violin, so I KNOW what violin playing should look like. It is incredible how many times I have seen people in movies faking the violin. I feel if they can't at least take a few rudimentary lessons they should't attempt it. It looks ridiculously fake. Anyone who has played one can tell.

thanks for posting this! I've been wondering when this movie would ever show up again. I saw it on TV by accident 20 years ago.
