Can somebody tell me HOW... how does a bank let you withdraw 60 bucks -- notice the withdraw of sixty bucks sandwiched between 3 overdraft charges and ask yourself HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN?!?! How can an overdraft show up after withdrawing from a BB&T ATM??? if you're really 70 or whatever in overdraft fees in the hole. How can you withdraw anything?!?!? Because folks, the system is rigged to convince you that you have more money in your account -- keeping it hush hush that they've already deducted 135 plus 70 in overdraft fees, and keep you ignorant of it for two whole days, though BB&T has recorded in its private data records... with-holding crucial information from consumers, for two days... just waiting for you to slip up!!!

If they take money from your account, they have an obligation to tell you... but its so much easier to with-hold information on these transactions for days, so they can rip you off.

When you complain and try to get something done about the mistakes they made... guess what folks?
THEY CHARGE YOU FOUR DOLLARS FOR TWO PHONE CALLS!!! at a 1-800 Number which is false advertising too, because 1-800 numbers are suppose to be toll free...
Yeah, those charges were incurred from BB&T, one of them (not to mention) I was disconnected, while trying to reach a customer rep, and the phone was disconnected, but it didn't stop BB&T charging me two bucks for absolutely nothing. In fact, I got nothing but hassled when I finally got through. I was not notified they were stiffing me 2 bucks per phone call I made to the bank, either.
This is how BB&T does business folks!

ON THE VIDEO: Watch as their "Security" lies to me that they don't have a form to simply fill out, hand in, and close out an account. Hateful jerk isn't he? They managed to rip me off for $105 ... and then proceed to be hateful, as if I'm the wrongdoer. Let's get this straight... I'm the victim!!!

WHAT IS THIS FOLKS? A FORM YOU FILL OUT, MAIL IN AND BANG -- ACCOUNT CLOSED! Taken straight from the BB&T WEBSITE, AND YET THE CASHIER AND SECURITY LIED ON TAPE, CLAIMING NO SUCH FORM EXISTS.

This rude, hateful treatment is how BB&T treats victims its corrupt fraudulent system has ripped off.

Not only was a transaction for 135 with-held from my knowledge, but along with it, an "overdraft fee" for 70. NOT ONLY THE TRANSACTION WAS WITH-HELD BUT THE OVERDRAFT FEE ITSELF WAS KEPT SECRET TOO... giving me the reassurance, "You're safe to with-draw 60" for which I received 60 from an ATM, but got hit with yet another Overdraft. BB&T's internal system knew my account didn't have 60 bucks. While 70+ in the hole... all the online system says is that 90 is available and 112 was coming through. I withdrew 60 dollars because it appeared everything was clear. If I had not withdrawn that 60 (BBT's FRAUDULENT ONLINE SYSTEM told me was safe to withdraw from), there'd been enough to cover the pending transaction (I knew nothing about, but BB&T sure knew and backdated the information 2 or 3 days later!) As a result, I not only got hit for 2 overdrafts but a third one for the $60 I withdrew.
Available funds: 90+112 = 200 plus, and it wasn't enough to cover ONE TRANSACTION for 135... but it was enough for BB&T to tack on 105 in fees.

So, Banks charge $70 in overdrafts and wait two whole days before telling you about it on online banking??? Saying "Please do with-draw some more money so we can bleed you even more!"

Yep, with-held even the information of that overdraft charge for two whole days, still lying that $90 is available in the account, and 112 coming through... of which they stole every dime. Some rich CEO at BB&T is eating steak tonight... my children don't know that same luxury.
There's a day of judgment coming.

I've added all relevant information, with the blog I keep on the predatorial Sallie Mae and their consort, Weaselwood Diploma Mill Scam... who scammed me and my children out of 20,000 in just one year. All for a worthless piece of paper, that accredited colleges and employers don't even recognize!!!

  • Why no images of the $112 payment? What was it? A check, an ACH, a debit card purchase?

That's the piece of the puzzle I can't follow.

  • @RockinRight a direct deposit. A credit. An electronic payment.

  • @kelseyfresh83

Don't worry. Where there's smoke, there's fire. If people are complaining, the banks are doing something they shouldn't.

Overdraft Fees Law 6/25/10, CBS 7 News, June 25, 2010

Beginning next week, the Federal Reserve will stop bankd from automatically signing up customers for overdraft protection, which allows banks to charge penalties to debit card users who spend more than they have in their accounts.

Under the new law, bank customers have to "opt in" ....

  • Tellers are extremely limited on what they can do. I've worked for different banks and they all have a similar system. You could have filled out the form and dropped it off. And at the drive through tellers are even more limited on what they can do. If I were you I'd take them to small claims. All banks refuse to go to court for overdraft fees and always just refund the fees instead of going to court. It's not a rule, it's just a preference they have.

  • They just got me for 110.00 in overdraft fees and I had the money in my savings account to cover the items posted. They are taking advantage of hard working customers and it is definately inappropriate.

  • I think I am going to make a BB&T bash video... thanks to them, since August we have lost almost $1000 thanks to them and their exorbitant overdraft fees. They even held my husband's paycheck for almost a week (for what!?) and it was from the United States government!

  • In the past 48 hours I've had nearly $200 charged in overdraft from BB&T because they claim I had insufficient funds... because THEY did not process the $100 dollars I gave them a week ago IN PERSON. I'm beyond pissed at this point and looking for a different bank as I type this.

  • THEY R A TERRIBLE BANK. I had $5 in my bank account and used $4 at the gas station. so I should have had $1 left. (I was gonna close my account but later forgot about the account) but then a complete year later I got a paper in the mail saying I overdrawed. but it wouldnt tell me how much but they charged me $122 for overdrawing and then $50 for them closing my bank account. so now they're trying to get $172 out of me
